Why You Never Stand A Chance When Buying A Vehicle

Why You Never Stand A Chance When Buying A Vehicle

If you are in the market for a vehicle and think you can do a little research on the internet and then go and make a great deal you will get ripped off…

The reason that the average car buyer will never get a good deal on a vehicle is most vehicle purchases are made using emotional triggers that the auto dealers use to manipulate the ususpecting public.

They include:

Fear Of Loss – once the car dealers have figured out your hot buttons and which model you are interested in they will make you think that there is only a few models left. If you are looking at a used vehicle this is even more evident.

Prestige – auto sales people will make you feel like a million bucks when driving the vehicle. They’ll even ask questions like “Will this fit into your garage?” which assumes mental ownership because now you can picture the vehicle in your garage.

Value – every auto dealer will tell you how great the resale value of their vehicle is. While almost every vehicle loses an average of 25% the first year there is no such thing as a vehicle that has value.

While there are a few good auto delers out there most of them will try and squeeze every penny out of you so they can line thier wallets. Think about this. Do you know a poor car dealer? I sure don’t.

There are a few steps that you can take to gain a competitive advantage:

1. Do your research online and do not go into any dealership until you have a good idea on what make and model you are interested in
2. Call the dealership before going to test drive. Most dealerships have an Internet Department and will sell their vehicles for less than by just walking in. Contact this department first.
3. Don’t negotiate payments, just total amount of purchase. Most buyers fall into the trap of monthly payments and do not look at the total overall cost of their purchase.

Where To Find Classic Car Parts

Classic car parts are not easy to come by. But if you have finally been able to purchase the classic car youve always dreamed of, finding the classic car parts to restore and accessorize it may be a high on your priority list.

Whether you have a muscle car, an antique or a vintage model, you will inevitably find the need to replace and restore some of your car parts. Classic car parts are not as readily available as for the cars that are still in production. You cant just walk into a dealership and place your order because the parts are no longer being made. But with a little digging, they can be found.

Some places to start your search include:

Online Auctions

Online auction sites, such as Ebay, are probably the easiest place to begin your search for classic car parts. If youve seen the ads that Ebay has It, you know this is true. Ebay Motors has many listings for hard to find vehicles and classic car parts. Youll have to cover the shipping charges, so that is something to consider when purchasing larger items.

Swap Meets

Finding a local swap meet may be just the thing you need to locate the classic car parts you need. They are great places to find older model accessories and other outdated items.

Classic Car Part Dealer Publications

Often times you can find the parts you are looking for in car part dealer magazines. The only drawback here is that you will probably have to spend top pound. This option could be used as a last resort though if you are unable to find a specific part anywhere else. Exhaust all other possibilities first if money is tight.

Clubs and Organizations

Clubs and organizations exist for as many hobbies that people can think up. Certainly, there are a fair number of clubs and organizations geared toward car enthusiasts. Locating and joining one such club may prove beneficial in your hunt for classic car parts. You will be able to make connections with other people who share your interest.

In the Internet age, it is also possible to find a club or organization centered on classic car parts by doing an online search. Try searching Yahoo groups and you are likely to find a list of clubs you could join. Again, making connections with people who share your interest in classic car parts may lead you to a dealer or another source from which you can purchase classic car parts.

Junkyards

Maybe you dont picture yourself hanging around a junkyard to find used classic car parts, but you may be able to find a diamond in the rough. If you have never used this type of service before, it could be worthwhile to check it out. Everything is computerized and usually a visit or a phone call is all you need to check and see if they have the part or accessory that you need for your precious investment.

Of course you will want to take good care of your classic car to limit the number of parts that you will need to search for. The less time you spend tracking down parts, the more time you can spend enjoying the car of your dreams.

When Your Cars Parts Are Hard To Find

One of the major problems that classic car owners have is that they have a hard time locating the right kind of auto parts or replacement parts for their vehicle. This is mainly because most auto parts stores at present offer only auto parts for the most popular vehicle makes and models as well as the auto parts for the newest cars in the market. They do not take into consideration that there are still old cars still alive and working that also need some auto parts replacements.

So how do you find that elusive auto part for your car?

Join Auto Clubs
You can try joining auto clubs and ask around with other members who own the same vehicle as you. That way, you can ask them where they get their replacement parts. You can search for such auto clubs using car magazines or you can search through the Internet for them.

Be An Online Hunter
Take full advantage of what the Internet has to offer. You can exhaust all search engines for auction sites or online bulletin boards. Many stores or sources of auto parts replacements for classic or old cars advertise their products online. Put these sites in your archives so you can visit them regularly and check for updates. Or, you can also contact these sources yourself and ask them if they can get the auto part that you want for you.

Be A Scarp Yard Scavenger
On one of your spare and free days, you can take a dive to a local scrap yard. Many owners of classic cars share that they are able to look for good replacement parts for their classic vehicles from scrap yards. They do maintain though that you should be patient enough to go through the stack of cars at these scrap yards.

Used Rolls Royce – The Unmistakable Air of Superiority

If there is one vehicle that is considered the very pinnacle of wealth, taste and luxury in Great Britain, it simply has to be the Rolls Royce Phantom. Ever since its initial incarnation in 1925, the Rolls Royce Phantom has embarked upon a ceaseless evolution bringing it right up to date with a modern coupe version. Despite all this changing and developing, the Phantom has never lost what made it stick out from the other prestige cars; the unmistakable air of superiority.

Having been lucky enough to drive the latest 2008 Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe, I can testify that there really has never been a car that feels so luxurious and assured. It is also probably the chunkiest car I have ever had the privilege of sitting inside.

The six speed automatic gearbox is probably the only facet of this car that lets the side down. Despite the 6.75 Litre V12 Engine having the necessary power to pull this behemoth along very quickly, the automatic gearbox always feels slightly out of sync and never quite changes up or down when you want it to, especially at speeds. This is quite a petty complaint however, as I don’t think i have ever seen a Rolls Royce Phantom accelerate above a canter, it is a car that is meant to be driven slowly and leisurely.

With all this opulent exuberance comes a steep price which few of us mere mortals will ever be able to afford. That is unless you check the Used Rolls Royce market, which due to the depreciation in value of prestige cars, can hold some very good quality nearly new bargains.
